The Muslim Pilgrimage of Hajj.
"And proclaim that the people shall observe Hajj pilgrimage. They will come to you
walking or riding on various exhausted (means of transportation). They will come from the farthest locations."
Al-Quran [22:27:8]
We have rendered the shrine (the Kaba) a focal point for the people, and a safe sanctuary. You may use Abraham's shrine as a
prayer house. We commissioned Abraham and Ismail: "You shall purify My house for those who visit, those who live there, and
those who bow and prostrate."
Al-Quran [2:125]

The Hajj, or pilgrimage to Makkah is a central duty of Islam whose origins date back to the time of Prophet
Ibrahim (PBUH). It brings together Muslims of all races and tongues for one of life's most moving spiritual experiences.
For 14 centuries, countless millions of Muslims, men and women from all over the world, have made the pilgrimage to Makkah, the
birthplace of Islam. In carrying out this obligation, they fulfil one of the five "pillars" of Islam, or central religious
duties of the believer.
